Mercury in Scorpio Oct. 2-Dec. 8
Mercury's thoughts and manner of speaking is much more intense and passionate
when moving through perceptive Scorpio. There is a fascination with secrets and
topics people don't usually like to discuss (or have been told you don't discuss
in public, like sex). Be careful about sudden harsh words, especially if you
don't really mean them, because Scorpio's sharp tongue isn't easily forgotten.
Sarcasm is more common, too. ht into the Libra
tendency of "let me check just one more thing." Mercury's transit of Libra
will also enhance thoughts of nesting, redecorating, etc., which is why when the
weather turns chilly, we start to focus on the interiors of our homes.
Instinctively, we seek balance at this time.
Venus in Sagittarius Nov. 17-Dec. 11
Venus works well in charming, flirtatious Sagittarius. This combination of sign
and planet is also very good for creativity, though Sagittarius creativity is
either geared toward things that are philosophical or that stimulate
understanding. It's also encouraged by travel or exposure to new ideas. Venus in
Sagittarius has little interest in settling down. It wants to go out, do things,
meet people and try something fun and new so this can be a playful time.
Mars in Scorpio Oct. 23-Dec. 5
Before Pluto was discovered, Mars ruled Scorpio and is still considered the
co-ruler of the sign, assertive Mars is very comfortable here. On the positive
side, Mars transit of Scorpio can fire up libidos and passion for anything. On
the negative side, it can also encourage jealousy, anger, and fights. People
will have more energy to take action and projects begun at this time have a
greater than usual chance of lasting due to Scorpio's fixed energy. Scorpio's
intuitive perception can also add precision to Mars usual take-charge
tendency.

Saturn direct in Leo April 5 - Dec. 6
Now that Saturn, the planet of restrictions, lessons and boundaries,
is direct, a certain amount of frustration should be eased. Saturn retrograde
tends to cause delays but not out meanness. Saturn, especially when it's
retrograde, insists that you look at what isn't working in your life. What needs
to be cleared away so you can create a solid foundation for your hopes, dreams,
goals and visions. Saturn in Leo puts the focus on projects or issues involving creativity, leadership, romance,
children and relationships. Don’t try to avoid
it because Saturn doesn’t tolerate slackers. It will turn up the pressure
until you work with it. Clear out the old and the
new will be much easier to handle.

Outer planet retrogrades aren’t as "in your face" as
Mercury retrogrades, but what they lack in pressure they make up for in longer
durations. During this period you can expect to be forced to finish any
incomplete projects or issues involving creativity, leadership, romance,
children and relationships. Don’t try to avoid
it because Saturn doesn’t tolerate slackers. It will turn up the pressure
until you work with it, plus it will be twice as hard to start new projects with
Saturn trying to force you to address the old ones. Clear out the old and the
new will be much easier to handle.
Uranus in Pisces (through May 29, 2010)
Uranus is the planet of individuality and change. It asks us to break the ties of conformity and live up to our true Soul potential. It's
been dubbed the "Awakener" because its psychological function acts on the unconscious urge to become aware of your true self (Sun) and
intuitively awaken to a world beyond. The trick, however, is to make changes that bring you closer to your Soul purpose, joy and greatest
good rather than change for the sake of change.
Don't ignore what needs to change in your life or else the rug could be pulled out from under to force the change. Uranus is the planet of
sudden change so things can be a bit chaotic during a Uranus retrograde transit. On the positive side, you may also find yourself
making some drastic changes in your personal life that are long overdue.
You can experience/make some major, positive life changes now, especially
those who have really needed to change but have tried to put it off. Just make sure you really consider your options before
making a drastic change. You'll have better results if you look within and consciously work on your issues. If you ignore it, outside influences
will appear to force you to change instead. You'll change either way, but in one method you'll be directing your own course, which will feel
much more comfortable.
This is a major opportunity to create the breakthroughs in your life and free yourself from situations and beliefs that are
holding you back from your greatest good and highest potential. Envision the future you want to live and channel Uranus retrograde
into helping you release the old and create something new.
Uranus’ remaining years in Pisces could create a new sense
of brotherhood and community – so long as we don’t hide in addictions, be
they to shopping, smoking, eating, complaining, etc.
Neptune direct in Aquarius
On Oct. 29 Neptune, which has been retrograde in Aquarius since May 22, 2006, finally
turns direct. This retrograde has helped people get
more in touch with their spiritual beliefs and consider how they align with
their day-to-day life. The drawback is that it has also been easier for people
to kid themselves and buy into illusions, especially those they rationalize as
being for the greatest good (Aquarius). So, for instance, someone might be
deluding themselves that staying in a bad marriage is good for the family. Once
Neptune is direct, the illusions will dissolve, especially those involving
relationships. Neptune will remain in Aquarius through April 5, 2011.

On Oct. 29 Neptune, which has been retrograde in Aquarius since May 22, finally
turns direct at 12 degrees Aquarius 37'. This retrograde has helped people get
more in touch with their spiritual beliefs and consider how they align with
their day-to-day life. The drawback is that it has also been easier for people
to kid themselves and buy into illusions, especially those they rationalize as
being for the greatest good (Aquarius). So, for instance, someone might be
deluding themselves that staying in a bad marriage is good for the family. Once
Neptune is direct, the illusions will dissolve.
Pluto in Sagittarius Sept. 4, 2006 (Pluto will
be in Sagittarius through Jan. 27, 2008)
Pluto is the planet of transformation and rebirth so it tends to teach us deep
lessons that literally change our lives. Many people do not like Pluto
lessons, but Pluto was the god of wealth so if you work with the lessons you will
receive your rewards. Pluto moves slowly and works on deep levels of
consciousness so patience is required to handle its changes.
Pluto has been in Sagittarius since 1994 and officially entered the sign on the day the OJ Simpson trial began. Sagittarius rules the beliefs behind government, law, the legal system and religion so during this period (Pluto will be in Sagittarius for a few more years) we are getting a sort of cosmic estimate in regard to all of those things. We're being asked if those systems work as well as they should, is there hypocrisy or bias, have they veered off course from their original ideals or have time just changed. Once Pluto moves into Capricorn on January 27, 2008, we will be able to start rebuilding them but first we must discover what is and isn't working.
Pluto in Sagittarius is also helping us as individuals to reconsider our beliefs and philosophies. Used negatively, Sagittarius can be dogmatic and close-minded to other ideas. On its highest level, it's about exploring and learning new things so we can understand ourselves and our world better along with our place in it. Which side of this energy we use is up to you.
Mercury
Retrograde Meaning Regardless
of the Its Sign
The planets never actually move backward. It's just an optical
illusion caused by the combination of the earth's orbit in contrast to the orbit
of the planet in question. When Mercury is retrograde our analytical mind is a
bit scrambled and there's a greater chance of misunderstandings and mixed up
communication. Computers and mechanical devices (including cars) are more prone
to breakdown but odds are the repair will have to made again once it turns
direct. Backup your computers before the retrograde and have any needed repairs
made beforehand. If you have to travel, plan ahead, double and triple check your
plans and allow plenty of time for processing at the airport and changing
planes. It's a great time to edit and revise writing, and to go over contracts
with a fine-tooth comb but don't sign the contract until after it goes direct.
It's also a great time to start a habit of meditation because it's easier to get
in touch with our intuitive minds because our analytical minds are distracted.
